Scripts & addons

Place the scripts into XChat's data directory.
XChat will auto-load scripts if they have the right extension, e.g. If a filename ends in .pl, it will be loaded as a Perl script. This data directory is different on each platform:

Windows:
It depends on your version of Windows and where it stores the Application Data folder.

On Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\X-Chat 2\

On Windows Vista:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\X-Chat 2\

UNIX:
~/.xchat2/
Where "~" represents your home directory i.e.: $HOME/.xchat2/
/home/username/.xchat2/

kb.tcl

Script that adds a /kb alias which kicks *then* bans the user (prevents the user seeing the banmask you're using). The ban is in the form of *!*@host.domain. Also included is a /stupid command which fills out the kick message for you into something vaugely witty.

nicksaid.tcl

If your nick is said in any other tab/window, the full line is printed in the current tab/window you are looking at.

hl.pl

Shows Highlighted Messages in the tab of your choice (useful to read the messages containing your nickname if you were away for a long period). ** Save as hl.pl

match005-1.pl

Match clones, unique addresses, and/or users (with multiple negatable wildcard pattern) in the current channel, the current server's channel, all channels, specified channels, or between channels. ** Save as match005-1.pl

highlight-logger-0.8.py README

Highlight Logger logs highlighted messages in a seperate window named '@highlight'. ** Save as highlight-logger-0.8.py

ircop-1.0.pl

IRCop Script shows server notices in different tabs; (spam) (lines) (nicks) (kills) (net) (whois) (oper) (vhost). Tested on IrCQnet - irc.icq.com - UnrealIRCd ** Save as ircop-1.0.pl

xchatsounds.zip xchatsounds.tar.bz2

Sound files to use on certain events. Go to: Settings > Preferences > Sound. Select the event you want to make a sound on, then type in a sound filename (or use the Browse button).

Fun color talkers. Copy&paste them into your autoreplace.conf file.

chanops-kickban.txt chanops-kb.txt (needs kb.tcl)

Some friendly anti-powertrip color chanop warn/kick/bans. Place them in popup.conf. Creates a submenu in your userlist.
